Greetings from the land of the very sleep deprived…. Our transition to the crib is not going well and in fact each night gets significantly worse instead of better. He is waking up every 45 minutes to 2 hours all night. Yes, all night. Sometimes he will give us a 3 hour stretch, but never more. We have tried just about everything and nothing is helping. I think tomorrow we will push back bed time for a week or so and see if it helps. He naps great, but that is because it is in the swing. Casey and I take turns going in to comfort and get him back to sleep. Yeah, I hate the crib. So this will be a short post and I really hope to add more later. Nothing gets done around here anymore since we are both so tired. I am going to work on pictures tomorrow and might take a few more so I will try to post pictures tomorrow.

Graham had is 4 month appointment this week and he weighs 14 pounds 12.2 ounces and is 25 1/2 inches. I don’t remember the size of his head, but all in the normal range. He is slowing down some on the weight and height, but is still at or slightly above average. He had his first vaccine too! We decided to start with the HIB vaccine which is a pretty clean vaccine. Very safe ingredients and very few side effects. Next month he will get DTaP and then at 6 months we will do HIB again along with PCV. That is the plan for now. After my research I decided these were the most important vaccines for infants. I am not a fan of DTaP, but I think it is one we should do and we are waiting until 5 months to start that one. Since he had no reaction to HIB we will add PCV at the 6 month appointment. All other vaccines will wait until he is older (probably over 2) since the risk of him getting them and getting severely sick from those diseases is pretty small.

He still hasn’t rolled all the way over and doesn’t seem to care much about doing it. He rarely even tries anymore and is content to just hang out on his side or back. I guess he isn’t in a rush to be trapped on his stomach. I am debating on starting some solid foods and wondering if that will help the sleep situation. I am reading a lot saying they won’t and it is best to wait until 6 months. Also, giving him solids of any kind will make my cloth diapering much more difficult so I am not really in a rush to do it. There isn’t much new going on with him this week. I will post some pictures and other updates this week. I promise I will try really hard to get it done.
