Sorry it has taken me so long to get this posted. I know many of you have been waiting for Birthday pictures! Hard to believe my little guy is a year old already. Sure goes fast. I won’t type up too much as I am sure most of you just want to see pictures. I have a ton of them. We had a little party on Saturday, his actual Birthday. I made most of the food, but mom helped me get a few things together. I made cupcakes and the cake too. Trying to save a bit of money, but boy what a lot of work. Cooking for a large group is very stressful to me. Deciding how much to make, getting it all ready in time, but not too early. Just not my thing really. We invited family and a few close friends. We didn’t want the party to get too large. I was worried how Graham would do since until about 2 weeks ago he would not leave my side in the presence of “strangers”. Even my parents who he sees fairly often. Luckily the stranger phobia wore off and he had a great time. He visited with pretty much everyone and didn’t feel the need to be holding on to me the whole time. The weather wasn’t too bad, hot, but not as humid as it has been. We had a cabana outside for a bit of shade and opened gifts under it. It was so great to see so many friends and family that we don’t get to see all that often. It was a great day and I was a bit sad when it was all over. And yes, I did cry a bit that night when he was officially a year old. He was fast asleep!
I took some pictures of him smashing and consuming a cake the week before his Birthday. We had a bit too much fun and he had a bit too much cake….. he was puking it up later that night and I felt horrible. Lesson learned. The pictures turned out really cute though. I have decided I need to get some studio lighting for these types of shots. Having a backdrop with natural light is nothing but a pain.
Cleaning up was fun too.
