We took Bella and Milo to their new home last night!! They have a wonderful new home. So far Buster, Bella and Milo are adopted. Tux is living with my friend Lynda and is starting to bond with one of her rabbits. So maybe he will have a new home soon too!! Nibbles and Oliver are living with Jari and still looking for a great new home. Cody is still living here with us. We are also going to watch a new bunny named Apple for a week or two until he can go to his new home. Plus Nibbles and Oliver are coming to visit next week! They are staying for a week while Jari is out of town for Christmas. It will be fun to see them again. So now we have to find Cody, Nibbles and Oliver a new home!!

Hello again

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

Sorry it has been so long without a post. I have been super busy lately with bunnies! Today is our first Rabbit adoption day at AniMall and I have been preparing for it. I built a cube cage that we will sell in a silent auction and I am teaching two little classes. One on litter training and the other on building a cage. Of course the really scary stuff happens on Thursday when I teach 15-20 5-11 year old kids about rabbits!! Say a little pray for me……. I have never taught a large group of children before so it should be interesting. Then next Saturday I teach my regular training class to adults at the SPCA. It is the month of bunnies. Now I just need to get my foster bunnies adopted!!!! I did manage to find some time for my 2nd annual bunny Christmas card photo shoot. I won’t be posting any pictures until the cards are sent. I don’t want to ruin the surprise. Needless to say it was interesting, but I don’t know if I love any of the shots so we may re-shoot. I am sure Tuscan and Moose will be thrilled. We didn’t attempt to involve JD this year since he obviously hates the bunnies, but I will try to get some Christmas shots of him to post here. Since I will be gone all day today I will have to do the second shoot next weekend when I have some light.

Rabbits in the news and a cat that wants to be a rabbit

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Check me out on the news!!  It is great to see rabbits getting some good press.  Thanks to the SPCA for making this story happen!!!  Click here to see the story.

J.D. really likes the bunnies, but he is still a bit scared of them.  I really thinks he wants to be one.  He eats their food, hay and lays with them and their toys.  Here are a few pictures of J.D.

Paisley is doing well.  She had to have her leg amputated, but she is hopping around on the other three.  She isn’t too happy with people right now, but she does love her foster mom.

Buster has a new home!!  Well, the adoption isn’t completely final, but it looks good!  He will be getting a new girlfriend so he needs to spend some time with her and try to bond with her before he goes to his new forever home.  I took a few new pictures of them today.  I only got good ones of Buster, Cody and Bella.  Also this week Milo, Buster, Oliver and Nibbles were neutered!!!  Hopefully they will calm down a bit in the next few weeks.  Cody decided he was tired of waiting for me to wake up this morning to let him out so he destroyed his cage.  The litter boxes used to be in the corners, but I guess he didn’t like them there and felt they were better stacked!

Jessica at Bunny Matters received a call this week about a very sick bunny.  She was told it was a wild bunny and went to pick it up to take to wildlife rescue.  When she arrived she found this very injured, very domestic rabbit.  Her injuries consist of a broken pelvis, back right femur broken in 7 places, large wound on left back thigh, broken front right tooth at gum line, bottom all torn up and needing stitches.  She is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.  Please make any donations directly to the vet treating her:

Relaxing Bunnies

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

One of my favorite things about bunnies it watching them kick out their legs and relax.  Sometimes you can even catch them sleeping.  The foster bunnies are master sleepers and I have lots of pictures of them sleeping.  Click here to see my sleeping bunny photo album.  If you have never seen a bunny relaxed you have to check it out.  It is like nothing you have seen.  :)   So much cuteness!!  How can you not love them?

Wow, we have grown a lot in 7 weeks!!!!!

The Great Escape

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Several months ago JD started opening the door to Tuscan and Moose’s room so he could drink their water.  He really likes water, usually water that isn’t his or is in the tub, sink, shower, toilet, etc.  We put hooks on the screen door so he couldn’t get in there.  After hitting his head on the door a few times he finally gave up so I stopped using the hook months ago.  Well, today while I was at work he decided he wanted to go back in there so he opened the door….   Luckily the door to the guest room was closed.  The bonus room is already bunny proof since they get to play in it each night so the only room they could get into that they aren’t allowed into was the bedroom.  When I got upstairs and saw the door open I called them and they came running from the bonus room where they probably spent most of the day sleeping.  They did do some damage in the bedroom!  Nothing major.  No biting of the furniture or electrical cords which is a miracle.  Apparently they were too busy eating JD’s cat grass and digging in the palm tree pot.  Silly bunnies.  I image they had a very fun day.  They aren’t running and playing much tonight.  I guess they are tired.  Oh, and JD was downstairs when I got home.  I guess they ran him out of the bedroom.

JD’s grass….  or what used to be his grass.  It was about 4 inches high this morning.

All Grown Up

Sunday, May 20th, 2007

The babies aren’t babies anymore…..  I guess we can call them pre-teens.  :)  Kayla who is now Cody started picking fights and now he has to live all by himself.

He seems to be okay on his own.  Bella also has to be separted from her little boys.  Here is a picture I took of Bella with one of her boys (Nibbles).  I hate breaking them up, but we don’t want anymore babies!!

I did get some great pictures and a video of Bella feeding them all (minus Cody) for the last time.
